You may remember when we got over 110,000 people registered to vote in the 2016 election thanks to our No Excuses campaign. What you may not know is that our community helped us do that. So as we thought about the midterms, we went back to them to ask "What should we do this time around?” And they said, "We want to go bigger. We want to actually get people to the polls."
This year our goal is to get 100,000 people to actually show up and vote this November 6th. This is important to us. In the 2014 midterm elections, only around 36% of registered Americans came out to vote – the lowest turnout in over 70 years. So we want to do better. The best part? Skimm’rs are at the forefront of No Excuses -- they’re the heart of it, the feet on the street, and we’re working together to make sure everyone knows there’s no excuse not to vote.
We’re rallying our community together to join the Squad.
There are already thousands of Skimm'rs who are a part of it. As members of the Squad, you’ll be armed with all the tools and materials needed to become a nonpartisan, political activist and get out the vote in your local community. You’ll be helping us lead the charge and get 100,000 people to actually vote.
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. Commit to vote
After you commit to vote, you'll be asked if you want to get more involved with No Excuses.
Then you'll get officially onboarded to the Squad, meaning you agree to get at least 10 people to vote with theSkimm (all that means is that they'll promise us they'll vote in the midterms, and then actually follow through)
Help point people in the direction of
to get registered, educated, build their ballot, and be ready to vote on Election Day
Bragging rights, activism made easy, a bullet for your resume, and swag for getting people committed and to the polls. Because we know you love that.
We’ve got a lot of work to do and we can’t do it without your help.
so we can make an impact together. No Excuses.
