Skimm'd with a new wall color

"Humans are underrated" – Elon Musk, on going back to good old fashioned human workers after robots slowed Tesla down. You'll do for now, Earthlings.

The Story

Yesterday, US and UK officials called out China and Russia for separate shenanigans.

Tell me about China.

Last year, Chinese phone-maker ZTE pleaded guilty to illegally shipping US equipment to Iran and North Korea. It agreed to a truce with the US, but didn't follow through on the terms. Now, the US gov has banned American companies from selling products to ZTE. And the UK is warning phone carriers to steer clear of the company over national security concerns.

Tell me about Russia.

Yesterday, US and UK officials blamed Russia for a coordinated worldwide cyberattack. Officials say Russian hackers have been infiltrating government agencies and Internet service providers through routers and firewalls. This has apparently been going on for more than a year. Millions of devices have been targeted, including some in people's homes. It's unclear how successful these attacks were.

Interesting timing that these announcements come when the US and China are on the verge of a trade war – and the US and UK are staring down Russia in both Syria and at home.

What to say when you hear Khloé named her baby True...

She's not the only one naming names. Yesterday, Fox News host Sean Hannity heard his name in an unexpected place: court. This has to do with Michael Cohen, President Trump's personal lawyer and fixer. Last week, the FBI seized documents in a raid on his home, office, and hotel room. Yesterday was Cohen's day in court. His lawyer mentioned that he mainly worked with two clients in the past year other than Trump. One was the former RNC deputy finance chair. He resigned after it came out that Cohen arranged a settlement with a woman he got pregnant. The other was a mystery. Until yesterday. Surprise: it's Hannity. Hannity says Cohen never represented him, they just had some brief convos. Critics are wondering why Hannity never disclosed working with Cohen in all the times he covered him on his show. Up next, everyone fights over whether the docs the FBI seized are protected by attorney-client privilege. Stay tuned.

Big day. This year's Pulitzer Prize winners had one too. The New York Times and The New Yorker won for their Harvey Weinstein and #MeToo coverage. Kendrick Lamar became the first rapper to win for "DAMN." The Washington Post got an award for its coverage of Roy Moore. Reuters photographers also won for coverage of the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar. In other not at all impressive people, Desiree Linden won the Boston Marathon yesterday. She's the first American woman to do so in decades.

What to say to your friend who just started their residency...

Heard about this? New research says people with the most common type of lung cancer may be able to improve their survival rate with immunotherapy. Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer. It kills about 1.7 million people around the world every year. And immunotherapy is becoming increasingly popular when it comes to cancer treatments. It works by targeting the body's immune system to shrink cancerous cells. Now, scientists say combining immunotherapy with chemotherapy could almost double the survival rate of some people with lung cancer. It's expected to change the way a number of lung cancer patients are treated – and possibly those with other types of cancer too.

What to say when you remember what you spent on Amazon last night…

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt can top that. Yesterday, a gov watchdog agency said the EPA broke the law when it bought Pruitt a soundproof phone booth. For $43,000. ICYMI, some people have been worried about Pruitt's ethics. See: spending tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on first-class plane tickets, plus this condo deal from an energy lobbyist's wife. Also, the $43,000 phone booth. Pruitt said he needed it to talk to the White House about sensitive topics, like the closet in "The Parent Trap." Now, the EPA's watchdog is saying the agency violated a law requiring that Congress know about pricey office renovations that cost more than $5,000. Which...this did.

Color Of The Year

The MVP of the rainbow. Turns out getting the top honor is a process. Companies use fashion, design trends, and color marketing managers (yes, that's a real job) to pick the winner. This year, Oceanside SW 6496 is Sherwin-Williams' Color of the Year. And it kinda looks like Skimm teal. Just saying. Get colorful here.
