Amanda Duberman
VP, Multimedia

Amanda Duberman wants you to feel a little bit better about your scrolling habit.

Amanda is the vice president of multimedia at theSkimm, where she leads our social, video, and audio teams to make all the theSkimm content that lives outside your inbox, from the meme-delivered social commentary in your groupchat to the women-led sports podcast your friends won’t stop talking about.

Her goal is to create *actually valuable* social and video content about the issues smart women are thinking about today, from women’s health to how AI is changing work to the interpersonal dynamics of the latest WNBA trade.

If women have joined together to make smart, funny social media content some time in the last 15 years, Amanda has probably helped them do it. Previously, she built Betches News, a social-first news and politics platform of Betches Media. She's obsessed with using social media to pull women deeper into the cultural conversations shaping their lives as workers, moms, sisters, friends, athletes, teachers, nurses, patients, sports fans, and every other multitude they contain.

Occasionally Amanda jumps in front of the camera, serving as the longtime host and executive producer of the Betches Sup podcast and co-hosting the launch of theSkimm’s Well Played sports podcast as well as “We Needed This,” theSkimm’s flagship woman-on-the-street series. She believes womanhood is only survivable with a shared commiseration, and feels strongly about translating theSkimm’s editorial authority into delightful social content that makes our audience feel both more seen and a little bit smarter.

Amanda has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Barnard College. She calls herself a New Yorker despite not passing J.Lo’s purity test (please DM her your personal theories for what makes one a real New Yorker). She lives in New York City with her two sons: a 10-year-old dachshund named Morty and his brother, a toddler human.

You can find her work wherever you like to scroll, including theSkimm’s Instagram, our sports and culture hub, and on TikTok.
