The Daily Skimm is the email newsletter that gives you everything you need to know to start your day. We break down what's going on in the world with fresh editorial content. We'll meet you in your inbox M-F, bright and early. The Daily Skimm leaves our hands--keyboard at 6am ET.

Take a look in the "to" field of both emails. Chances are you signed up another email through a sweepstakes or something else. If these emails are different, scroll to the bottom of the Daily Skimm and click "unsubscribe" on the email you don't want.

Never again will you wonder when Beyoncé tickets go on sale, what time the State of the Union is on, or when your favorite show is back on Netflix. It's like your calendar ate a smart cookie.

  • 1) Open your iPhone or iPad Settings
  • 2) Scroll down and tap iTunes & App Store
  • 3) Tap your Apple ID at the top
  • 4) Tap View Apple ID and enter your password
  • 5) Tap Manage under Subscriptions
  • 6) Select theSkimm
  • 7) Turn off the auto-renewal option* and tap Done, or tap the cancel subcription button

*note: the auto-renewal button looks like one you have to slide but you actually just have to tap it! Silly, I know. And even if you unsubscribe, you can still read the Daily Skimm for free in the app. Every M-F. So don’t delete us.

iAm glad you asked. Right now, Skimm Ahead is compatible with the iPhone/iPad calendar apps and Google Cal. But we have a lot more up our sleeves. Stay tuned.

Yes. You can either “Skimmify” your calendar, so events are automatically added, or you can pick and choose which events you want to see. Buffet style. To Skimmify, go to Settings in theSkimm app and tap Get theSkimm Calendar. Choose between The Big Stuff, Entertainment, Politics, Sports, and Business. To add individual events, tap the calendar icon in the bottom right of a specific event.

That’s OK, because we’ve thought of everything. You can get all the Skimm Ahead calendar events and read the Daily Skimm in the app too without skimmifying your calendar. So you should still download it.

  • 1) Open your iPhone Calendar app.
  • 2) Tap Calendars at the bottom.
  • 3) Scroll until you find theSkimm calendar. Tap the info button to the right.
  • 4) Under Notifications, turn off Event Alerts.
  • 5) Tap Done to save your preferences.

  • 3) Scroll until you find theSkimm calendar.
  • 4) Tap theSkimm so it’s unchecked.
  • 5) Tap Done.

First, you’ll have to remove the calendar by following these steps:
  • 1) Update to the latest version of theSkimm App in the App Store
  • 2) Open theSkimm App and click “Settings”
  • 3) Scroll until you see the “REMOVE ALL CALENDARS” button and tap that
Now, re-Skimmify your calendar and pick your new timezone:
  • 1) Open up the app again.
  • 2) Go to Settings.
  • 3) Tap Get theSkimm Calendar.
  • 4) Pick your new timezone.
  • 5) Breathe because you’re no longer 3 hours late to watch that show premiere.
  • 1) Update to the latest version of theSkimm App in the App Store.
  • 2) Open theSkimm App and click “Settings.”
  • 3) Scroll until you see the “REMOVE ALL CALENDARS” button and tap that.

Tap that link to deactivate the calendars you already have. Or reset any issues and get a fresh start. This’ll make sure you’re back in sync.

Easy. Tap “Get theSkimm Calendar” or tap the toggle buttons on the right side of the specific special calendar you want to add. This toggle can also turn off the calendar.

Sometimes more is more. So we decided to make you some more special calendars to opt into. Like sports? Entertainment? Opt into those calendars. Want to be able to talk to your friends in DC about all things politics? Opt into the politics calendar. We got you.

“The Big Stuff” includes all the events we think you need to know about. It’s a little of everything. We’re curating everything you need to know to be ahead. Super Bowl? We got you. When Beyonce tickets go on sale--also got you. When the Supreme Court hearings are--got you.

It’s not going anywhere. We just changed its name to “The Big Stuff.” Because it’s the big stuff and all the big events you need to know about. Don’t worry, nothing changes. We just wanted to give you some more options to opt in to.

All of the lights, all of the lights. These are all the show premieres, new movies, award shows, big concerts, and more. You'll know when tickets go on sale for that festival all over your social media feed, and when you can can binge a new season of your fav show. Lights, camera, add to calendar.

Balls on balls. This lets you in on the big sporting events your coworkers will be talking about. We're not interested in clogging your calendar with every game out here -- just the ones you need to know about. It includes football, basketball, tennis, golf, and more. Get ready to know about people more fit than you.

Elections and Supreme Court hearings and speeches, oh my! It'll let you know about big international events like foreign elections and G7 Summits, while also giving you a heads up about Supreme Court hearings and BFD presidential speeches.

Bills bills bills. This is the cal you need if you have friends in finance. It includes everything from earnings to IPOs to Fed meetings. And it'll tell you why you should care about these things. Cha-ching

Right now you can customize what you see in your calendar by picking and choosing which events you want to see and tune in for. You can also now pick which categories interest you. You can also toggle between calendars. We’re working on a lot of exciting updates here at Skimm HQ, so stay tuned.

Skimm Notes is an audio feature in theSkimm App that’ll be bringing you fresh episodes every week. We’ll break down complex topics in 10 mins or less. And when you're done we've anticipated your rabbit hole and will follow up with a recap of what you learned, quick quiz, and a curated list of listens and reads for more. It’s pretttty, pretttty good. All you have to do is press play.

No. Skimm Notes is exclusive to theSkimm App. But you have the ability to download offline for your commute, or stream them directly from the app.

Each Note is 10 minutes or less. Perfect for your commute or for multi-tasking for when you're working out, brushing your teeth, or just have 10 minutes.
