This week, we chatted with one of the most decorated track and field Olympians in history, Allyson Felix. When she’s not busy winning Olympic medals (nine, to be exact) and world championships, she’s making moves as the founder of Saysh, a community-centered lifestyle brand for and by women. And when she’s not doing all of that, here’s how she loves to spend her downtime. On your mark, get set, take it away, Allyson...
Smartest purchase I’ve made recently...Barefoot Dreams blankets. They’re amazing and so cozy and I don’t know how I made it this long without them.
The movie I can watch a million times and it never gets old...“Clueless.” As a kid who grew up in Los Angeles, I loved seeing this fancy, fun side of life that felt so different from my reality. It was like this cool escape.
Product I keep adding to cart...Now that I’m a mom, I cannot believe how many wipes from The Honest Company I use. I really love their products and what they stand for.
Self-care habit I swear by...I love breathwork. It’s amazing how incredibly relaxing something that is vital to our existence can be. It’s something that I find so centering in the midst of a fast-paced life.
Go-to workout apparel...It’s still crazy for me to say this, but I have my own line at Athleta. Having my own signature line is something that I always dreamt of, so that’s definitely my go-to. I created it along with Casey [Schumacher] and the whole Athleta team to make women feel strong and like they can conquer anything.
The meals I love to eat before and after training...I normally eat pretty light before training. I try to keep it healthy — grilled chicken, grilled veggies. After training, though, my husband, Kenneth, and I love Hot Wings Cafe. We’ve been going for years and years, and it makes me so happy whenever we splurge for the extra-hot wings with zucchini fries.
Fave pump-up song to run to…”Diva” by Beyoncé has been my go-to pre-race song for years. I love the place it takes me to, the alter ego that comes out of me — it makes me feel like a warrior.
