January 18, 2022 (New York, NY) – theSkimm, a leading mission-driven media company dedicated to helping millennial women live their smartest lives, today announced the return of its event series SkimmU – free virtual courses designed to tackle the crucial life lessons your alma mater never did. Following its launch in 2021, SkimmU empowered 77,000+ women to sign up to take control of their finances, and the course’s second semester, SkimmU Well, is designed to help women build a better relationship with their health holistically — from mental health and nutrition to sleep hygiene and financial wellbeing. Free registration for SkimmU is open at events.theskimm.com/skimmuwell2022 today, with the first course kicking off on February 23rd.

“Millennials are often called the ‘burnout generation,’ putting their mental and physical health on the back burner. And for millennial women, the pandemic brought on even more significant challenges — from the She-Cession and job loss, to managing remote learning and child care — which is why our second semester of SkimmU is designed to empower women to invest in their health,” said theSkimm’s co-founders and co-CEOs Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg. “By developing these courses and connecting Skimm’rs with experts to tackle health and wellness questions, we’re helping our audience overcome the stress, sleepless nights, medical bills, and other wellness-related challenges they face everyday.”

Through engaging and interactive sessions with industry pros, thoughtful coursework, panel discussions, and audience Q&As, Skimm’rs will gain the information they need to navigate, advocate, and take action when it comes to their health. SkimmU Well, presented by Fidelity, Eden Health, and Athleta, will consist of four free, 25-minute courses, followed by a panel and audience Q&A:

  • Mind Your Mind, led by Minaa B., LMSW, Writer, Speaker and Therapist, will spotlight mental health and how to set boundaries. Minaa B. will also be joined by Dr. Rachelle Scott, Medical Director of Mental Health at Eden Health for a panel discussion.

  • Food For Thought, led by Jessica Jones, MS, RDN, CDCES and Wendy Lopez, MS, RD, CDCES, will focus on which foods your body needs to feel its best because health isn’t one size fits all. Jessica Jones and Wendy Lopez will also be joined by Dalina Soto, MA, RD, LDN for a panel discussion.

  • Catch Some Zzz’s, led by Dr. Rebecca Robbins, Instructor in Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and Sleep Scientist, Brigham & Women's Hospital, will share scientifically backed research on how to wind down and the effects of a good night’s sleep (or lack thereof). Dr. Rebecca Robbins will also be joined by Dr. Nishi Bhopal, MD, Psychiatrist & Sleep Specialist for a panel discussion.

  • Invest in Your Health, led by Dr. Fahimeh Sasan, Kindbody’s Founding Physician, will tackle investing in – and saving for – your physical and mental health, so your wallet never limits your wellbeing. Dr. Sasan will also be joined by Kelly Lannan, Senior Vice President, Emerging Customers for Personal Investing (PI), a unit of Fidelity Investments for a panel discussion.
