As a shopping editor, I get infinite emails touting all of the latest and greatest product launches about to hit the market. And sometimes, products are so unique and niche that I don’t have the perfect place to include them. One of my favorite parts of writing and producing our Skimm Shopping newsletter is that I can create fun “grab bag” sections with a mix of everything. Think of this roundup as the long-form version of that. Note: Some of these products have been around, but are new to me.
A new blend of matcha…
I’m pretty loyal to making my matcha lattes at home these days, and Muracha has been one of my favorite blends to reach for. It just released another option, Uji. No. 18. It has notes of sweet pea, fresh greens, and cream, which I find goes perfectly with my go-to syrup. From experience, this tin allows me to make six lattes total.
A posture-correcting bra that may help with posture…
Forme’s Power Bra went viral after Taylor Swift was spotted wearing one while training for The Eras Tour. I tested it last year for our Good For You Awards, and can attest that while it didn’t totally “fix” my posture, it did give a good tactile cue for keeping my shoulders back. The brand just relaunched the longline bra in a soft CollagenTech fabric, which feels more cloud-like than the original, in my opinion.
A portable heated brush from Conair…
I saw this launch from Conair on Instagram and thought it was pretty genius. It’s a cordless mini heated brush you can keep in your bag for touchups throughout the day. My wavy hair is prone to flipping at the ends (annoying), so this has come in clutch for lightly straightening them out throughout the day.
Dagne Dover’s Super Soft collection…
Dagne’s latest collection has the spacious, yet smart silhouettes you know and love, this time with a thinner, more flexible fabric. I love the brand’s original neoprene bags for protection and structure, but sometimes I’m looking for a floppier, softer bag. This collection is made of a blend of recycled nylon that’s wipeable and malleable, and I’m particularly into this convertible backpack for work and travel.
A dream hair collab from Pantene…
Abbey Yung has been the internet’s hair god for the last year or so, ever since her namesake hair routine method took off. The trichologist and content creator recently co-created this cream-to-mist leave-in spray with Pantene. It’s ideal for those with super dry ends who are looking for a detangler and hydrator in one. Plus, it’s color-safe and doubles as a heat protectant.
A fall-themed oven mitt you’ll reach for year-round…
While I love fall decor, I don’t like to spend too much on it because I know it’ll only sit out for a season. That said, Rifle Paper Co.’s latest collection has lots of autumnal options that are cute enough to use all year. I’m into this acorn print that also comes in an oven mitt and pot holder. The chocolate brown motif means they’ll feel seasonally appropriate now, but chic later.
Dosey’s Marbled Collection…
You know you’ve reached peak adulthood when design-forward supplement organizers are exciting. I’ve spoken extensively about my love for Dosey, and the Marbled Collection is something I’m now majorly eyeing.
New Kindles galore…
Everyone, stop what you’re doing. Amazon just launched new Kindle e-readers and I’m deeply intrigued. The three new versions now have an aluminium back that’ll provide some extra durability and sleekness. Not to mention, the display is clearer than ever.
A shower gel that’s taking me back to high school…
The duality of me: having an organized pill case, but using a Lush body wash from high school. I’ll take it. This new launch is the brand’s iconic Super Milk fragrance, this time in a shower gel. And if you’re wondering what it smells like, think of Lush’s classically sweet Bubble Bar scent, but a smidge lighter.
A mini duffel bringing back nostalgia…
I know what you’re thinking. What business do you have buying a Vera Bradley bag in your thirties? Let me explain. The brand’s Original 100 Handbag is making a major comeback. If you’re into Baggu, you’ll be into this. It’s on-trend thanks to its elongated silhouette and has a vintage feel from its patchwork designs. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a smaller gym bag or want an errands bag you don’t have to be overly precious with.
Some aura-coded sneakers…
FP Movement can’t stop when it comes to its sneaker collabs. They just launched these exclusive Salomons in two aura-inspired colorways. Friends of mine swear by theirs for walking, hiking, working out, and simply bopping around, and these punchy options will add a quick statement to an all-black outfit.
A more accessible way to snag Bala products…
Bala now has an in-house line at Walmart, which is major if you’re wanting to test out the brand without paying a premium price. They have everything from a cheaper ankle weight and resistance bands to their take on a kettlebell (my personal favorite) and an at-home reformer.
A derm-approved serum launch…
Remedy Skin is another derm-developed brand you can shop directly or find at Target. When I saw it was releasing a new azelaic acid serum, I knew I needed to give it a try. It’s fragrance-free, has a water-like texture, and can help to minimize redness.
A skincare headband clearly made by a woman…
Dr. Sam Ellis, what did we do to deserve you? The California-based dermatologist and founder of Prequel just came out with this skincare headband and wristband set for washing your face. The headband itself is extra-thick and has Velcro tabs to pull your hair into a low ponytail. The wristbands will prevent water from spilling onto sleeves.
The new headphones at the top of my holiday wishlist…
When I saw Beats came out with these sweat-resistant, water-resistant headphones, I knew I needed to have them. They’re basically the brand’s take on Apple’s Airpod Max, but instead they have removable ear cushions you can wash and switch out. I actually prefer over-ear headphones when I’m weight lifting, but I find that my headphones do get gross and sweaty, so these will be a game changer for me.
Fall-themed clips from Jenny Lemons…
Our team of editors love Jenny Lemons clips for securely keeping their hair out of the way and always serving as a fun gift for just about anyone. The brand’s Harvest Table collection has tons of autumnal options, from maple syrup to pumpkin shapes.
A mascara discovery that’s changing my makeup game…
I didn’t realize how badly I was in need of this mascara from 19/99 Beauty until I saw a targeted ad and bought it immediately. The brand’s bestselling Lash Tint mascara has a teeny, tiny brush that grips even the shortest hairs and allows for a clump-free, precise application. I love it so much that I’m planning to wear it on my wedding day. You can use it on your brows, too.
New York Times Games Books
Connections: Find the Common Threads in 100+ Puzzles of Wit and Wordplay
A new book from New York Times Games…
After Puzzle Mania!’s craze last year, New York Times Games is releasing a book completely dedicated to Connections. You can expect over 100 puzzles based on the popular word game, this time, analog style
A spooky-inspired candle bundle…
P.F. Candle Co. is another one of those brands I always turn to when the seasons change. Its Celestial Bundle is perfect for those who want to get into the spooky spirit in a way that doesn’t feel gimmicky. This bundle comes with three of the brand’s classic scents in limited edition smokey grey jars.
My new favorite drugstore beauty buy…
This year, my sensitive skin has gotten extra-sensitive, and I’ve now developed perioral derm all around my nose (fun). Because of that, my skincare routine is even more paired back, and I’ve been into these single-use facial towels from Q-tips to keep my skin clean and nonreactive. I love them for everything from drying my face post-shower or workout to using one as a washcloth or to remove makeup.
A smart way to take care of your cuticles…
I’m obsessed with Buff Beauty Co., the bare nail brand from the founder of Birchbox. This cuticle pen is such a smart product. It’s a nail-shaped pumice that you can use to gently buff away your cuticles while depositing a hydrating oil. Keeping one in my bag at all times.
