One of our favorite forms of self-care is exercise. That’s why we asked Kendall Toole, of Peloton fame, to Skimm Her Life. When she’s not leading workout classes, she’s a mental health advocate (and X2 Performance equity partner). Today she’s here to share her go-to recs for staying active and feeling balanced. Take it away, Kendall...

Smartest purchase I’ve made recently...Sleepbuds by Bose. I have a boyfriend who snores, and these make it possible to drown that out and get a really good night’s sleep.

Best book I’ve read recently...Malibu Rising.” It’s an enjoyable, lovely read about a surfer family. It took me back to my California roots. I am also in the process of rereading “The Untethered Soul” and “Untamed.

Favorite pump-up song...There’s nothing better than some Led Zeppelin to get the mood right. Also, I swear by “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to set the day.

Product I keep adding to cart...X2 Performance’s Pre+Intra Workout powder — I swear by it. I drink some about 30 minutes before a workout and then have it to get through the classes. It provides really good, clean energy that makes me feel like me on my best day, the most well rested, and ready to train.

One part of my morning routine I would never give up...Definitely my skincare routine. Part of that involves using my gua sha, which I keep in the fridge and clean off with vitamin C oil and antibacterial. I use it for circulation and to wake up my face before I apply True Botanicals’ Pure Radiance Oil. Before I head out the door I throw on Thrive Causemetics' mascara.

Favorite fitness routine when I’m crunched for time...My go-to will always be a boxing-inspired HIIT class. It’s full-body and will get your heart rate up, so a lot can get accomplished in a short amount of time.

The class or ride that always puts me in a good mood...I would say my Peloton pop-punk and 2000s rides because it brings up so much nostalgia from being an angsty teenager, and I love it.
