You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…
PS: Skimm HQ is off next Friday to observe Juneteenth, so the next edition of Weekend Non-Negotiables will be back in your inbox on June 26.
Happy (almost) weekend. Tomorrow I’ll be jockeying for a stool at my local sports bar and praying the Knicks pull this off (I might also do my own saging ceremony to help things along). Here’s what else I’ll be getting into this weekend:
Reading voraciously is technically my job. So as soon as I finish the one Margaret Atwood novel I somehow missed, I’ll move straight to a gothic enemies-to-lovers romance one fan called “a fever dream you won’t want to wake up from.”
Figuring out what to wear for a summer trip to England, which on its own requires an advanced degree in meteorology. I’ll be there for 10 days — a book signing, the Cotswolds, and the British Grand Prix included — and this minimalist packing list should handle most of it. But I’ll also bring a light windbreaker for when the sky opens up.
Making this restaurant-worthy chopped salad using my favorite tangy vegan cheese. I’ll serve it in a big stoneware bowl, which scientifically will make it taste even better.
Celebrating my nephew’s second birthday. I can’t wait to watch him achieve his lifelong dream of licking bubbles with this gift.
Braving the Apple store to get a new phone, as I might be the last person on Earth with an iPhone Mini. It’s mostly an excuse to get a cute case in summer’s trendiest print.
