EDITOR’S NOTE
Happy Sunday. I kid you not, I’ve thought of nothing this week besides You Can See Everything, which I saw Monday and haven’t shut up about since. While I desperately await its arrival on streaming so I can do the frame-by-frame analysis it demands, I’ll also…
Keep things cozy with the only cold-weather outfit formula I’ll follow this fall: ’70s-inspired knits and “granny jeans” — and yes, it’s cooler than it sounds. That chartreuse, collared sweater has my name all over it.
Accept the things I cannot change. Namely, that dry air is extremely nigh. Then change the things I can, starting with a sunscreen that won’t irritate my sensitive skin.
Finally give in to the scarf-around-the-waist trend (I’m a year late, I know), thanks to this surprisingly subtle styling tip. It’s the easiest way to make the slouchiest, comfiest outfits look like you tried.
Gladly break out my tights for the fashion renaissance I’ve been waiting for: the ’60s mod minidress. Cosplaying as an Austin Powers extra? Sign me up.
Debate the necessity of buying a Weird Little Purse. Suddenly, the baguette bag is taking its name very seriously.

👚 Just in time for Peak Layering Season, meet the T-skirt — basically the sartorial equivalent of a bed skirt. Or, as The New York Times put it, “the little styling trick you’ll now notice everywhere.”
🧣 Call your mom. The ’90s scarf she owned in at least five colors (six, if you count paisley) is the new Cool Girl accessory. Just ask Jennifer Lawrence.
🥪 Want your blowout to last for days…without looking like you shellacked your head with AquaNet? This viral “hair sandwiching” hack takes seconds and uses two products you probably already have.
👀 Don’t ask us to explain, but the season’s chicest shoes all have one tiny detail in common — and it looks suspiciously like a certain hair accessory. Our ponytails would like a word.
🧶 Quick, what word do you associate with sweaters? Cozy, right? Wrong. Knitwear is now “in its sexy era.” Someone check on Sally Albright.

Alexander Skarsgård, the (freaky) man that you are. From the moment he and his “Wicker ween” wove their way into the internet’s horny hearts with that trailer, we knew the press tour would be… something. But somehow, Our Collective Scandinavian Boyfriend™ has topped even that. We enter into evidence: The London screening, where the 50-year-old (not a typo) showed up with his dogs — sorry, “little piglets” — out and dressed as the Oscar he so clearly deserves. Then, there was the SAG-AFTRA event, where he got wiggy with it as a tribute to his costar Olivia Colman after growing “jealous” of everyone complimenting her hair (relatable). And, obviously, the High Priest of the Cheeky Tee delivered some very good shirts, from this exceptionally on-theme statement tee (we wonder what Ol’ Pappa Skarsgård thought) to the 2000s-era Britney Spears concert merch we’re hunting for on eBay to the long-sleeve with a literal framed photo of Colman on his chest (nonwicker husbands, take note).
And as if no one could match his freak already, Skarsgourd (who knew?) said “hold my orange mocha frappuccino.” He revealed his term of endearment for his fisherwoman (thank you, Zara Larsson, for educating us in advance). He also fessed up to being IKEA’s No. 1 hater (safe to say this wasn’t sponcon). And he gave Graham Norton a pair of wicker appendages that a million HomeGoods devotees would’ve killed for. None of this is a surprise from the man who has long had The Horny Little Press Tour in the bag. Lest you forget: the world’s most elegant dildo blouse, the backless halter neck that gave 2003 Avril Lavigne vibes, and the shirt that said the quiet part out loud. So, yes, consider us ready for the main event: Skarsgård in all his wicker glory — and in 4DX for the real basket cases. As he said himself, we’d marry that.

Halloween is officially less than a week away, which by our (very unscientific) calculation means you should have gotten your costume yesterday. But if you also suffer from chronic procrastination — or have a normal level of enthusiasm for the holiday — we’ve rounded up the 2026-iest costumes, all yours to steal. Just make sure to include us in your acceptance speech when you inevitably win the costume contest.

🧪 Elizabeth Holmes, Nathan Fielder, and Billy Evans. Aka, the throuple costume of the year. Baby in bouncer optional.
⚽️ Erling Haaland and his taxidermy raccoon. Naturally, the signature man bun is a must. Bonus points if you have a friend dressing up as Jimothy.
🍎 Issey Miyake kindergarten teacher. We’re already calling it: This is going to be the if-you-know-you-know Fashion Girl costume of the season.

👩💻 Job interviewee with iced coffee. A nod to the best online discourse of 2026, which, yes, somehow happened only a little over a month ago.

Those ginormous Gilded Age hats and wigs, it turns out, are a literal pain in the neck. Or so says Carrie Coon, who gifted the same medical neck rest to her costars — and gave one unsuspecting TMZ-er a full-on infomercial pitch. Mrs. Russell, you shouldn’t have.

If you loved The Talented Mr. Ripley or Strangers on a Train, you’ve already spent time inside the ever-so-slightly twisted mind of Patricia Highsmith. In A Talent for Murder, she’s the one on screen. Adapted from the play Switzerland, the new movie stars Helen Mirren as an aging Highsmith, who spends her days drinking and chain-smoking in a secluded Swiss home. Most of the rest is invented, starting with Edward (Alden Ehrenreich), an ambitious junior editor at her publisher who’s been tasked with persuading the famously cantankerous author to write a sixth Ripley novel. While Highsmith initially responds as you might imagine (read: with plenty of verbal abuse), she eventually comes around — as long as Edward helps her plot a worthy murder. But as reality and fiction begin to blur, Edward starts to wonder whether she’s as dangerous as her writing. Or maybe her wall of knives and guns is just for show?
