From the Group Chat: "Summer House" Drama, "The Drama," and Robot Olaf

EDITOR’S NOTE

Happy Sunday. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s missing out. So imagine how distraught I was to find out about the buzziest party-slash-underground sale (featuring my all-time favorite food) — three days too late. While I sheepishly join next month’s waitlist, I’ll take solace in the internet gold I didn’t miss out on this week, like:

❤️ Turns out there’s a secret, sixth love language — at least, according to the likes of Kylie Jenner and Zoë Kravitz. Whatever happened to acts of service?

✂️ Forget “clavi-cuts” and feathered bobs — these are the hairstyles that’ll make you look like an effortlessly cool French Girl. De rien.

👠 Want to instantly elevate your jeans? You don’t need a pair of fancy high heels. You actually just need this one specific kind of shoe.

👖 The rumors are true: This extremely controversial pant has found its way back in style. The good news? The updated version is much cooler — and way more wearable.

👀 If you haven’t figured out how to wear a miniskirt without feeling like a preteen (just us?), this foolproof style guide will show you how.

Well, it finally happened: The Bravoverse found a scandal big enough to rival Scandoval. If you, too, were shocked to find out that way more people watch Summer House than you thought, here’s what’s going down: A few weeks ago, Internet yenta Deuxmoi posted a rumor about two cast members, Amanda Batula and West Wilson, getting cozy in the Hamptons. Sounds normal enough, right? Wrong. Wilson is the on-again, off-again ex of fellow cast member (and Batula’s close friend) Ciara Miller. And Batula is, after years of psychological warfare, in the midst of a long overdue divorce from yet another castmate, Kyle Cooke (who cannot believe his luck right now), and has basically taken every opportunity possible to talk about how single she is. She’s even gushed about Miller as a friend. See? Complicated. All this week’s talk about the could-be romance hit a fever pitch, and West and Batula issued a joint statement on their Instagram Stories (where else?) to confirm their “connection.” Yikes.

Naturally, all the most important players picked their jaws up off the floor to pledge their allegiances: some of the Summer House cast let their faces do the talking (this is our favorite), while superfan Jon Hamm had “a lot of thoughts” — but chose one clear side. At some point in all of this, Miller unfollowed both Batula and Wilson. Alana Haim (yes, of the band) wore her loyalty (almost literally) on her sleeve, and Andy Cohen, who must be exhausted, pointed out what was missing from the statement (ahem). Ex-castmate Paige DeSorbo made her stance clear in the comments of Hannah Berner’s, er, similarly messy (and oddly catchy) Instagram rap song. Even Rihanna is rumored to have weighed in. And let’s just say Miller couldn’t have planned her first outing any better after the news broke. Amid the firestorm, a brand apparently removed Batula from its social media campaign (complete with a shady post), and sources alleged to Deuxmoi that Bravo is weighing its options on how to proceed with the show. The latest news about the summer share house doesn’t exactly spell out confidence, either. Deuxmoi now also claims that West may not be just playing Summer House with Batula and Miller; he may have actually been Winter House-ing all over the country with different girls. It leaves us with a few questions: Do these people not know anyone else? Who in their right mind would want to live in this obviously cursed mansion? Could this all just be one very elaborate, well-timed prank? (Respectfully, no.) Will this be Miller’s next appearance? Most of all, could this pave the way for yet another reality TV crossover? Or better yet, a home renovation spin-off? For all of our sakes — Ciara Too Good For This™ Miller’s, most of all — we hope not.

By now, you probably know about the massive heist that happened last week. No, we’re not talking about the one involving famous paintings. We’re talking about the one involving famous chocolate: more than 12 sweet tons of KitKats, to be exact. Nestlé has been working overtime to convince us that this isn’t some elaborately planned hoax (the timing is suspicious), and has asked the public to help find the culprits (there’s a tracker and everything). We (or rather, our thumbs) have been working overtime to find the most epic social media reactions to the whole thing. So, in no particular order:

🏆 This recommendation for a getaway ride, should the perps set their sights on a different, very specifically shaped chocolate next time.

🏆 The official response from the Whitney Museum, which truly could not have been timed better. Someone give its social media manager a raise.

🏆 This geography sleuth, who made a pretty solid argument if we’re basing this whole thing solely on the location of the heist

🏆 This very good and definitely not bad boy who cannot be held accountable for anything. Ever. No matter how compelling the evidence is.

🏆 This crossover event with one of the other biggest news stories of the week. They both really blasted off.

Au revoir, robotic, Disneyland Paris Olaf. We hardly knew ye. But if you had to go, we’re grateful that it was in one of the funniest ways ever imaginable. We’ll never let it (or these perfectly timed screams) go.

Well, after what felt like a very long engagement, er, press tour, which we can’t help but wonder was coincidental, The Drama is finally in theaters. In case you, too, have lost the plot by this point, Charlie (Robert Pattinson) and Emma (Zendaya) have what appears to be a picture-perfect relationship. That is until one night, when Emma, made brave by a few glasses of wine, admits “the worst thing [she’s] ever done” to Charlie and their best friends. Based on the tailspin that follows her reveal, it’s safe to say it’s something bad. Like, really bad. The Curb Your Enthusiasm-level cringe bleeds through the entire wedding week and the reception itself, controversial plot twists included. We might never know the truth about Zendaya’s actual marital status, but we’re more than seated to see this one play out on screen.
