Blake Morgan is theSkimm’s (unofficial) CYO. She literally talks for a living. As the co-host and producer of the sports and pop culture podcast, Well Played, Blake is on a mission to cut through the noise of blazer-wearing-talking-heads in sports media. Alongside her cohost, NY Jets sideline reporter Caroline Hendershot, Blake dives into the sports stories that matter most to women — particularly those overlooked in the male-dominated industry.

Blake always knew she’d build a career in audio. She learned everything she knows from Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika, the award-winning producer and host of Uncivil, Unruly Subjects, and Empire City. In 2021, she teamed up with AZI Media, to produce At the Moment, a cultural and political show about the Asian-American diaspora. The program was featured in Vanity Fair’s 10 Essential Podcasts From AAPI Creators list and Apple Podcasts’ editorial Never Voiceless playlist for AAPI Heritage Month.

At theSkimm, Blake has played a key role in making audio products that make our audience smarter. She previously served as the associate producer for the weekly news show, Skimm This, connecting macro news stories to the everyday lives of millennial women. She also was the producer of the Ambies-nominated 9 to 5ish, hosted by theSkimm co-founders Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg. Each week, the top women leaders joined the podcast to share their unfiltered career and entrepreneurship journeys.

A proud New Jerseyan, Blake graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in French Literature and Journalism and Media Studies. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, where you can find her justifying money spent at local restaurants, curating her CD collection for a more analog life, and cuddling up with a copy of New York Magazine on her very deep couch.
