Caroline Hendershot is a sports reporter and host in the NFL with the New York Jets as well as for College football with the Big Ten Network.

At theSkimm, Caroline draws on her experience across professional football, college athletics, and digital media to deliver engaging, accessible stories through the Well Played podcast that connects the audience with the people and perspectives behind the headlines. Her background in reporting, interviewing, and multimedia storytelling helps her make complex sports narratives relatable and compelling while remaining informative.

Before joining the Jets in fall 2021, Caroline worked at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, as a production assistant on several programs, including Get Up and NFL Live. She has since expanded her on-air experience as a college football sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network and host of a daily digital show for CBS Sports HQ. Across these roles, she has covered major storylines, interviewed athletes and coaches, and delivered insights from the heart of the action.

Caroline’s perspective is shaped by her own experience as a collegiate athlete. At the University of Michigan, where she earned her Communications degree with honors, she was a four-year member of the women’s rowing team, which finished third nationally and won the Big Ten Championship in 2019. That year, she also earned First-Team All-American honors and was named Big Ten Athlete of the Year. Her experience competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics informs her reporting and gives her an appreciation for the dedication, preparation, and pressure behind every performance.
