Emily Delaney
Video Editor and Producer

Emily Delaney has been editing videos ever since she stumbled upon Windows Movie Maker on her family’s desktop computer in 2007. She’d like to think her skills have improved since then, but you’ll have to check out theSkimm’s social channels after reading this to see for yourself.

Over the past eight years, she has scripted, produced, and edited digital content ranging from celebrity interviews and GRWM’s to compelling original and educational documentaries. Her ability to take any story — no matter how simple or how complex — and turn it into something deeply watchable and shareable, allows her to work across genres and formats with ease. She’s just as likely to edit a documentary that lands at DOC NYC before streaming on PBS as she is to edit Instagram videos for Martha Stewart’s skincare line, and she’s pretty sure you’d enjoy watching both. In 2023, her documentary series about women in food won Best Series at deadCenter Film Festival and the AMC Best Female Creator award at Stareable.

Emily graduated with a B.S. in Communication from Ohio University and now lives in Queens. When she’s not shaking her fist at the latest Adobe Premiere update, she’s walking her dog Hank, writing her next Substack, or cooking something very delicious for dinner.

You can find her work on theSkimm’s Instagram and YouTube channels.
