Genevieve Cifelli hopes you’re going to follow theSkimm on Instagram and TikTok after you read this.

More than that, she hopes you see something on the feed you’d DM a friend. She’s the social producer, so she’s always thinking about engagement on social media and striving to make content people will run to the group chat with.

Genevieve has worked in content strategy and creation for more than 8 years. Before she joined theSkimm, she worked on digital campaigns for the think tank Center for American Progress. Her greatest learning there was how to turn often dense and complicated info into digestible and shareable takeaways (sounds a lot like skimming, huh?)

At theSkimm, Genevieve writes and produces content often inspired by newsletters, the Well Played Podcast, red carpet interviews, sporting events, and more. She’s also the host of “We Needed This,” theSkimm’s video series where guests decided what we’ve been desperately needed — and what we could do without.

Genevieve has a bachelor’s degree in communication from The George Washington University and lives in Brooklyn, NY. In her spare time she’s a comedian — because even if she cracks jokes with her coworkers from 9-5, she still needs to joke extracurricularly.
