Because anything is cozier than the scratchy blanket they give you on the plane. This cropped sweatshirt is made with Old Navy’s signature Bounce Fleece that feels plush, yet lightweight. The cropped length makes it a great option to pair with high-waisted jeans or shorts.
A pair of matching sweatpants…
The key to looking put-together at the airport? A matching set. These pants are made with the same luxuriously soft material as the sweatshirt above and have a slight bootcut that creates a flattering silhouette.
An easy athleisure dress with built-in shorts…

One of our favorite basic tees…
When we think “classic crewneck,” we think of this tee. It has a super relaxed, comfortable fit that can be tucked into pants or short with ease. For a travel capsule wardrobe, we recommend white or black; but with prices in the single digits, we’d grab some fun colors and prints, too.
A layer-friendly tank…
This tank is form-fitting enough to act as your first layer under a cardigan, but substantial enough to wear on its own. The higher neck gives it an elevated vibe. Add statement earrings and a pair of jeans for an off-duty model vibe.
A breezy oversized button down…
An oversized button-down shirt is the hero of your travel capsule wardrobe. You can wear this one with leggings and flats for an airport look that’s comfy but means business, over a maxi dress on chilly nights, or as cover-up for the beach — the possibilities are endless.

This jacket is one of our favorite fall items from Old Navy. It’s lighter than most barn jackets, thanks to its cropped length and slightly stretchy material. We love the contrasting faux-leather collar, too. One editor bought it a few weeks ago for an upcoming trip to San Francisco and can vouch for the quality.
A large bucket bag that will fit under the plane seat…
Traveling is a great excuse to invest in what we like to call a “dump bag.” This spacious tote is big enough to dump literally anything into, like last-minute duty-free items, snacks, your kids’ must-have toys, etc. We love this one because it’s chic enough to double as a work tote.
