What I Tested…
Completing the Puzzle subscription ($28+/month)
Why I Tested…

How I Tested...
I requested a 2000-piece puzzle and spent a month piecing it together. I took notes on the quality of the puzzle pieces, design variety, delivery process, image quality, and their use-then-reuse business model.

Test Results...
Puzzle piece quality. This is where I’m a stickler. I like the puzzle pieces to be hard and sturdy since I have a tendency to get impatient when wriggling one out of its incorrect spot. Completing the Puzzle sent me a 2000-piece puzzle from MasterPieces called “Ocean Park” and I was pleased to find some uniquely shaped pieces that helped keep things interesting. While I didn’t record any missing pieces, I did have one piece with a torn edge, so there was a teeny-tiny hole in the completed image. Otherwise, the pieces were colorful, identifiable, and sturdy.
Hassle-free process. Once you complete the quiz and make your selections, the puzzle is delivered in a small, space-saving zippered bag with a prepaid return label. Since I was technically gifted this puzzle, I didn’t have to send it back. That being said, I was very impressed with how easy and straightforward the return process is, according to additional research and reviews. Once the puzzle is returned, they’ll send you a new puzzle to enjoy. Each piece of the returned puzzle is then meticulously screened, counted, and cleaned for quality assurance.
Image quality. The image on the actual puzzle was gorgeous, but the laminated print-out of the final image was very low-resolution. It was difficult to make out some fine lines and details while completing it. Thankfully, each bag comes with a QR code you can scan to pull up a complete, high-res image.
Variety. Completing the Puzzle works with multiple brands, including editor faves like Galison and Art & Fable Puzzle Company, so you can choose from over 1,000 images. I’ve been eyeing this cute, spring-inspired design for my next puzzle session.
Sustainability. Unsurprisingly, this brand is big on sustainability as it drives their use-then-reuse business model. They also plant a tree for every new subscription. As of now, they’ve planted over 24,000 trees. Truthfully, this only made me want to sign up more.
