Skimm Her Life is a series in our weekly newsletter, Skimm Your Life, where awesome women share their favorite products.

Give a warm welcome to Melanie Travis, founder and CEO of Andie. We’ve been eyeing her brand’s ultra-flattering swimsuits for all our summer getaways. So we invited Melanie to tell us a bit more about them…and share her hottest recs. Here’s what she said:

The best book I’ve read recently…I recently read “Between The World And Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates with the Andie book club. It’s so powerful and moving. I honestly think this book should be required reading for everyone.

The last TV series I binged…I’m currently vegging out on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” I saw a random episode on an airplane recently and thought it was so light and fun, perfect after a long day.

A self-care product I swear by…Vaseline. It’s the only thing I’ll put on my lips. I don’t go anywhere without a little tube of it. I even included mini containers of it in my wedding gift bag for guests.

One thing I don’t miss about buying swimsuits in-store…Taking a pile of swimsuits into a hot, stuffy dressing room, getting completely undressed under fluorescent lighting, and squeezing myself into an ill-fitting swimsuit with makeup stains on it from the last person who tried it on. This is the exact experience that led me to start Andie.

My favorite Andie suit…It changes all the time because I get so obsessed with our new drops. But lately I’ve been rocking an OG classic: the Malibu. It’s such a versatile suit. If you snap the buttons all the way up, it’s a full coverage, sun-protectant dream. Snap them down and suddenly you’ve got this really sexy one-piece. Can’t go wrong.
