You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…
Whether your TV taste skews Team Espionage Drama, Team Sports Comedy, or Team Whatever Kim Kardashian Is Up To, your show just dropped season 2. In Netflix’s Black Doves, Keira Knightley is once again leading a double life: wife to Britain’s incoming prime minister and professional spy. In Apple TV’s Stick, ex-pro golfer Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson) sets his sights on a potential comeback. Oh, and for the four people who watched Hulu’s All’s Fair, the high-powered lady attorneys are back in business (read: speaking in you-go-girlisms and sporting an absurd number of gloves).
Jeans? We don’t know her. The coolest women are now wearing velvet pants on a random Tuesday — and we promise they look nothing like the Juicy velour ones you wore to the mall circa 2005.
Hugo Spritzes had a good summer. But the Official Cocktail of Fall is here, and it’s just two ingredients, zero shaking required. Sauvy B, consider it your redemption arc.
Three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and an A24 movie you’re legally obligated to see in theaters. This time, it’s Club Kid, a new film from I Love LA’s Jordan Firstman. He plays Peter, a queer 30-something party promoter whose sleep-optional lifestyle gets complicated when Arlo (Reggie Absolom), the 10-year-old son he never knew existed, lands in his care. Cue: Peter switching on his stove for (presumably) the first time, bonding with Arlo over record shopping in the East Village, and developing a parenting style that’s unconventional at best. As one commenter put it, “I can’t wait to bawl my eyes out to A24 Big Daddy.” Same.

If you’re only using your air fryer to reheat chicken nuggets, you’re underestimating it. Exhibit A: the lowest-fuss apple doughnuts in history, made with Honeycrisps, crescent dough, butter, and cinnamon sugar (technically optional, but emotionally mandatory).
Psst... See what else is happening this weekend so you never miss a moment.

Which cereal is the best cereal, bar none?

Happy (almost) weekend. My daughter is turning 4, Diwali is nearly here, and my house is full of relatives in town to celebrate (hello to my MIL and brothers). Between the birthday candles and holiday lights, I’ll…
Take the birthday girl to see The Lion King on Broadway. It’s a surprise, but she’s already put in her outfit request (a tutu and butterfly shirt), so shout-out to Amazon for this cheap pick she’ll wear exactly once.
Dress in layers, because fall weather has been all over the place. And I’ll just say it: Hi, my name is Kamini, I’m a millennial, and I don’t know how to dress anymore. My (hopeful) fix? This long-sleeve shirt, which lands somewhere between chic and won’t-sweat-through-it territory.
Light diyas for Diwali, my grandparents’ favorite holiday. They passed last year, and I want to keep the tradition alive. My daughter and I are also hitting the library to learn more about the holiday (arts and crafts included), then doing our annual rangoli puzzle at home.
Plant my pothos clippings. I’m gifting one to a friend who “wants to give indoor plants a try.” Little does she know, pothos is the gateway plant, and this is the start of her new plant-mom identity (I don’t make the rules). I’ll set her up for success with this self-watering pot.
Accept my family’s offer to babysit and finally get some me time. I’ll start with a foot mask that my pedestrian feet can’t wait to slip into, then finish this heartbreaking and hilarious novel. A lottery winner, a road trip, and a cat who predicts death? My kind of bedtime story.
