You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…
Pull on a cami…and then pull on a second cami. Y2K-inspired layering is back, and it’s way chicer than the look you used to wear to Jamba Juice.
Aperol spritzes who? The orangey-pink cocktail that’s been everywhere this summer is low-ABV, so refreshing, and exactly what we’re ordering at happy hour tonight.
Sure, it still feels like a sauna outside, but cooler temperatures are swiftly approaching. And when that happens, you’ll be glad you snapped up one (OK, two) of these breathable cotton sweaters before they sell out. They look more expensive than they actually are, and they’re machine washable. Sold.
Adam Sandler has made us all laugh, and now it’s his daughter’s turn to make us cry. In Don’t Say Good Luck, Sunny Sandler plays Sophie Birenbaum, a 16-year-old theater kid who — just as she lands the lead in her school’s production of Waitress — discovers her mom's (Melanie Lynskey) cancer has returned. The Netflix film — loosely inspired by the real-life experience of screenwriter Laura Hankin — follows Sophie as she and her family (including New Girl’s Max Greenfield as her father, and Steve Buscemi as her grandpa) come to terms with her mom’s grim diagnosis, all while Sophie navigates rehearsals, a crush on the musical’s male lead, and all the messy trappings of teenage life. Tissues required.

This genius two-ingredient sweet treat comes together just as easily over a campfire as it does your stove, and it might just be our new dessert obsession.

Summer 2026 is coming to a close. Which trend are you ready to leave behind?

Happy (almost) weekend. Lately, I’ve been trying something radical: planning ahead. With summer winding down and school season creeping closer, I want to optimize and enjoy my life at the same time. (Ambitious, I know.) So here’s how I’ll do both this weekend:
Start a tradition with my best friend. After rescheduling a few times, it’s finally happening. We’re going to soak fruits in rum now to make Guyanese Christmas fruitcakes this winter. Yes, I evoked the holidays, don’t smite me. It’s very grown-up. Then we’ll sip on our favorite nostalgic bodega drink, which now comes with a twist.
Get ready for back-to-school. My daughter’s heading to pre-K, so I’m keeping the stakes appropriately low. We’ll pick up this backpack, these folders, and maybe this outfit (now that it’s 40% off). When that’s done, we’ll take a test run at meal-prepping this French toast recipe for mornings when my eternal optimism meets my we’re-running-very-late reality.
Go to Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day. It’s the US Open kickoff for kids, with tennis, activities, and, most importantly, our favorite boy band.
Contain my makeup situation. My vanity currently looks like a Jackson Pollock of beauty products, so I’m debating between this decorative option or this storage system.
Do some things for me. September is my birthday month and the start of fall, so I’m spiritually entitled to this rugby sweater. Once that’s done, I’ll turn my brain off and watch something funny. As a New Girl stan, this movie is what I need. No dark plots. No murder investigation. Just jokes and my couch.
