You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…
Pour a ginormous cosmo — the Barefoot Contessa is serving her next course. On Wednesday, the Patron Saint of Store-Bought Foods dropped Happy Hour with Ina Garten, a weekly vodcast where she invites famous guests to her New York City apartment for a drink and a chat at her kitchen table. First up? Kate McKinnon, who talked about meeting Ina during her best friend’s bachelorette party, how she nearly blew her SNL audition, and their shared celebrity crush: Mel Brooks. Ina, we raise a perfect roast chicken to you.
Don’t pack away your white jeans just yet. Turns out, the summery staple looks even chicer for fall — as evidenced by these editor-approved styling tricks, which we’ll be copying immediately.
Not that you need an excuse to buy a cake — but “sprinkle embroidery” is the internet’s new obsession, and it might be more soothing than adult coloring books. BRB, heading to Trader Joe’s.
Did we just travel back to the 2010s? Because both Miley Cyrus and Carly Rae Jepsen just dropped new albums. Cyrus (sorry, Miley) has described Bass Persuades as a multifaceted “love story” (presumably involving her fiancé), but don’t expect things to get too sappy: The debut single is an ode to putting your phone down and shaking it. Meanwhile, CRJ’s Day and Night is a double album — the first half a bright, dreamy mix perfect for driving with the windows down, the second a darker, disco-y collection made for the dance floor — that’s been called “her horniest album ever.” Consider your weekend playlist covered.

The easiest way to make your bathroom look custom? Upgrading a toilet feature you’ve probably never thought twice about. See for yourself with this five-minute, renter-friendly hack that you’ll wish you’d done sooner.

The debate ends here: Which is the superior fall watch?

Happy (almost) weekend. In the lead up to my wedding, I lost a lot of hair and worrying about it only made it worse. But applying a mix of aloe vera juice and coconut oil before every wash — a secret desi girls have known forever — worked. Now it’s a staple in my routine, especially on weekends. Also on the agenda?
Eating a pawpaw. Picture the flavors of mango and banana blended together in a fruit that’s so deliciously soft it can’t typically survive the trip to the grocery store. I need one stat. Luckily, they can apparently be found around North Carolina.
Buying a massive roasting tray so I can prepare this Sheet-Pan Panzanella, a super simple salad made mostly of bread. One fan said they “can’t stop at 1 serving.”
Watching Hacks. Jean Smart’s history-making Emmy win was a reminder I still haven’t seen the final season. And Meg Stalter’s hilarious take on method dressing at the awards show is further proof that Kayla deserves her own spin-off.
Reading Colloquial Panjabi. Even though I’ve spent the past decade learning basic sentences and phrases from my husband and his family, I need a comprehensive book that can take my language learning to the next level.
Going to the Durham Farmers Market, where on my last visit, I played with a hedgehog, grabbed locally grown pussy-willow branches, and got a lesson on honey from a beekeeper. Fingers crossed there’s a pawpaw in the mix tomorrow.
