You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…
Few sentences have caught our attention quite like: “What if Romy and Michele were stoners? And telepathic?” Enter The Wrong Girls, starring Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat as aimless, codependent roommates who accidentally end up with a briefcase containing a glowing mystery drug. Of course, they take it immediately, and discover they now have psychic powers — including the ability to understand their cats (voiced by Kumail Nanjiani and Seth Rogen, naturally). Goals, right? Not quite, since that briefcase was never meant for them, and it drags the pair into a high-stakes criminal conspiracy. LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale, and Kate McKinnon round out what is a dream blunt rotation of a cast — sorry, movie.
If you’re also a Summer Forever™ person, run — don’t walk — to Trader Joe’s to stockpile the $4 home obsession that’s finally back on shelves. It’ll have you convinced it’s still July, no matter what the calendar says.
Slept on the season’s breakout pattern? Good news: It’ll be just as big for fall — and it somehow works for both the preppy minimalists and the funky maximalists among us.
Pharbs, we made it. After six long years, Phoebe Bridgers is back with her third solo album, Lost Weekend, and we already know where it’ll land on our Spotify Wrapped (the top). On “her longest and most daring record yet,” Boygenius’s head boy covers loss (it’s dedicated to her late dad), love (we’ve got a solid guess who “Bobby” is), and what’s seemingly her breakup with a certain actor (these lyrics are sure to send your group chat into a spiral). And while the best place to experience it was undoubtedly at one of these out-of-this-world venues, we’ll be listening in our beds, in the dark, tissue box in hand. Don’t text.

Believe us when we say we’ve got nothing against Costco pizza. But this simple, four-ingredient hack makes it (or any takeout ’za) taste like a $30 pie.

Which celebrity yacht vacation would you crash first?

Happy (almost) weekend. I firmly believe mid-August is the best part of summer. The chaos of late June and early July is behind us, everyone’s in vacation mode, and I can bask in these (still) long days. Here’s how I’m making the most of this weekend:
I’m hosting a dinner party, and I already know what I’m serving: this light and low-effort Coconut-Dill Salmon With Green Beans and Corn, which I’ve had bookmarked for longer than I’d care to admit. Given the state of summer produce, it’d be criminal not to make it.
Most of the people in my life happen to be Cancers, Leos, or Virgos, so yet again, I’ll be shopping for gifts. My new go-to? The Candy Lace’s necklaces or bracelets. Not only are they nostalgic and fun, but they layer perfectly with what my friends already have in their jewelry boxes.
I know I’m late to the game, but I’ve been loving Widow’s Bay — a horror comedy that even makes me, a self-proclaimed scaredy-cat, enjoy being spooked. The jokes are sharp, the New England setting is equal parts cozy and creepy, and it’s completely unlike anything else out there.
I was in a reading slump — until a friend recommended Yulin Kuang’s How To End a Love Story. It’s a fast-paced, enemies-to-lovers rom-com about two television writers forced to work together despite their secret and complicated past. Consider it the perfect pool read.
I recently threw out my back for the first time (oh, the joy of turning 31) and have since committed to trading my heels for sneakers whenever possible. These from the Reebok x Barbie collab caught my eye and match my favorite pink travel set.
