Between moving in with my partner and recently cleaning out my closet ahead of the warmer months, I’ve spent the majority of the last year thinking about organization systems and how to keep them in place. If you also have spring cleaning on the mind and are looking for products to keep your space tidy, scroll on. I’m sharing the 17 products I’ve been loving to minimize random piles.
Damage-free rug grippers…
While these aren’t an organization product per se, they’re satisfying and will prevent your rug from curling. Peel the adhesive backs and apply to each corner of your rug. Then, peel back the adhesive on the other side and press down onto your floor. They’re also renter-friendly and won’t leave behind any residue when you remove them.
Clear shelf dividers for managing toppling piles…
If your closet is currently a mountain of clothes, these will be a game changer for you. These acrylic dividers can slide onto most shelves so you can keep sweaters or any other delicate pieces stacked neatly. Our Commerce Director recently tested these out, so check out all of her thoughts here.
A special hanger for your belts…
In my past life, I would awkwardly roll up my belts and keep them on top of my dresser. Not only was it an eyesore, but they would also always come undone. This hanger has 14 hooks for your belts. Just place the buckles onto each hook and hang it in your closet. Now, you’ll have a clear spot to quickly grab your accessories from.

Another organization mistake I was navigating before I moved: overstuffing my pants hangers. These tiered hangers have multiple slots for jeans, trousers, and leggings. This is a piece from The Home Edit’s Container Store line sitting in my cart. My kitchen’s under-sink area is cramped and strangely shaped, so I’m planning to buy a couple of these. It’s a tall modular container with a pull-out drawer for accessibility, along with shallow rims that allow for stacking.
The storage bags I use for everything…
I’ve had these Hefty bags for years and won’t ever stop raving about them. I used them during my cross-country move instead of boxes to hold clothing, towels, and bedding. They’re a fantastic, lightweight alternative to plastic bins, and I’ve even used them to store my clean linens in closets. They have two durable handles, strong zippers, and mesh panels for ventilation.
A notepad to help me compartmentalize my tasks…
I still write all of my to-do lists on paper, and I like to keep my work and personal life tasks separate. This notepad from Joycreativeshop has three sections, one for to-dos with the other two categories completely up to you.
A brand that’ll make storing any important documents easier…
I never know what to do with things like random paperwork, life documents, bills, and receipts. This brand, Savor, creates aesthetically pleasing keepsake boxes to store pretty much anything. Their Folio Document Organizer and “In Case I Go Missing” Binder are musts for emergencies. They’re unsexy products you wouldn’t think of, but will actually keep you far more prepared and organized in the long run. I think these would make fantastic registry gifts, too.
The magnetic shelves for my overflowing spice drawer…
We’ve all dealt with an exploding spice collection and mine is getting pretty out of hand. These magnetic racks are genius. You can store them on your oven, fridge, or a metal bulletin board for clean, organized access to your ever-growing collection.
An effortless way to store hats…
Drill these hooks into the wall or use the adhesive they come with for a renter-friendly option. You can comfortably store up to four baseball caps per hook. If you live with a man, you’re welcome.
The storage bins that make random piles look sleek…
I keep these multipurpose bins on the upper shelves of my closet to store keepsakes like old journals, photos, and cards, along with any out-of-season accessories. Because their bamboo tops are flat, they’re easily stackable. I also love that they have built-in handles. PS: Parents, these are a design-forward way to store toys.
Corner shelving for your shower…
In the spirit of trying to revamp my shower, I’m buying this corner caddy organizer to store this waterproof lamp and all of my products. This set comes with three ventilated shelves that can be installed without any tools (so it’s renter-friendly). Skimm’rs are obsessed with it, too.
A kids' toy I actually reach for a lot…
My fiancé and I use this Magna Doodle for writing messages to each other or for taking note of those random one-off items we need to replenish in our apartment. Every week when we compile our grocery list, we reference it first without fail. I used Command Strips to hang it on our kitchen wall.
An expandable pan organizer…
Forget having to play a game of Tetris to stack and store your pans. This adjustable organizer has 10 compartments for pots, sheet pans, and lids. It fits up to 22 inches in width and doesn’t require any assembly.
An entryway caddy that keeps everything together…
My fiancé and I use this does-it-all caddy to hang coats, bags, jackets, and hats. There’s also a deep reservoir at the top that's ideal for storing smaller accessories including our sunglasses, wallets, and keys. This small catchall has been one of our most underrated apartment buys and makes leaving the house way easier.
The fix to your consistent stuck-drawer problem…
One of my least favorite things to deal with is a stuck drawer with too many utensils. These expandable drawer organizers have slots for larger utensils to ensure everything stays flat. They can be adjusted up to five slots at a little over 22 inches wide (and they'll work for your flatware, too).
