As a shopping editor, I get infinite emails touting all of the latest and greatest product launches about to hit the market. And sometimes, products are so unique and niche that I don’t have the perfect place to include them. One of my favorite parts of writing and producing our Skimm Shopping newsletter is that I can create fun “grab bag” sections with a mix of everything. Think of this roundup as the long-form version of that. Note: Some of these products have been around, but are new to me.
Kenneth Cole’s fall handbag collection…
Don’t forget about Kenneth Cole, the longtime fashion brand just launched its fall handbag collection at Macy’s, and this shoulder bag is calling my name for nights out. It has standout gold hardware and a zippered closure to keep all your essentials secure.
The Jellycat collection we need in its entirety…
The cult-favorite plushie brand just came out with its Halloween collection, and it might be the cutest one we’ve seen yet. Some standouts include a ghastly taper candle and a peanut in a cat costume. Buying a few for fall birthdays while they’re still in stock.
A designer-approved sticker book…
Susan Alexandra, the designer behind those viral beaded bags, is launching a sticker book on September 15. In it, you can expect over 700 stickers to add some whimsy to your junk-journaling spreads, to-do lists, or snail mail. I think it’d make a pretty fun birthday gift, too.
The Goldilocks of lip products…
I recently tested out a few products from Violette_FR for the first time, and this Bisou Jelly was my favorite. The brand launched this fig shade just in time for fall, and it’s ideal because it’s somewhere between a gloss and a balm with the color payoff of a lipstick.
A major refresh to your everyday tote…
Cobalt blue is all the rage this fall, and this Magazine Tote from Parker Thatch is such a practical way to add it to your wardrobe. It has extra-long handles, fits a 13-inch laptop, and is made completely of suede. It’s a splurge, but it’s a bag you can wear on the weekends and take to the office.
And a Boat and Tote that isn’t overwhelming…
I’ve spoken time and time again about how I am a Lands’ End tote girl at heart, but this new Tall Small Tote from L.L.Bean is making me a fan again. My biggest gripe with the Boat and Tote is that it’s too stiff and in turn, heavy. This smaller style is cut like a regular, longline tote, which I find makes it more comfortable to wear. PS: The brand just came out with Boat and Tote inserts, too.
An easy way to establish a matcha setup in your kitchen…
While this Matcha Tea Set from Fellow isn’t brand-new, I do think that it'll make for a great holiday gift for matcha lovers. It comes with all the tools they’ll need to make a latte at home, including a tray to nest the matcha bowl, the whisk, and its corresponding whisk holder. Not to mention, it’s stunning.
An in-shower product that does it all…
Our editors are obsessed, and I mean obsessed, with Cyklar. Its newest launch is this Semi-Solid Body Scrub. It’ll slough away dead skin, while leaving a fragrant, hydrating finish. It comes in three scents, including Sacred Santal, Vanilla Verve, and Naked Neroli.
A new Tiny Rollneck from J.Crew…
If you loved the original Rollneck, you’ll really love this “tiny” version. It’s a slightly cropped quarter-zip in the same soft cotton knit and comes in six color ways. For those looking for a boxier, less-cropped fit, go up a size or two.
A stylish pair of track pants…
I’m on my journey of wearing more pants that aren’t Levi’s. I just added these FP Movement track pants into my rotation. I love that they come in so many colors and their cropped inseam works on shorter frames. I’ve been wearing them while I strength train, walk, and move through a yoga flow. They’d be great for a long travel day, too.
A hair fragrance that lingers…
There are only so many celebrity brands I can get behind as a shopping editor, but Tracee Ellis’ Ross’ hair-care line, Pattern, is one of my favorites. It just dropped its cult-favorite Palo Santo scent in a hair perfume. Which means you can douse it all over after you’ve washed your hair with its products to really lock in the scent.
And a middle school body spray making a comeback…
Yes, Victoria’s Secret did just bring back Pink’s iconic body sprays. They come in three classic fruity, yet floral scents. On top of being affordable, I’d stock up on them now ahead of White Elephant parties. They’re bound to be the nostalgic gift everyone wants to steal.
A mascara from Jones Road…
I’ve been waiting for this moment. Jones Road’s Minimalist Defining Mascara comes in both black and brown (though I got it in the brown shade). It’s meant to provide natural, long-lasting definition and it doesn’t flake, smudge, or clump.
A drugstore cream you can use everywhere…
Vanicream is one of my favorite skincare brands, particularly because I have pretty sensitive skin. This new Enhanced Moisturizer is free from most allergens and you can use it on your face, body, and hands.
Another Gap dupe…
If you’ve ever wanted to get your hands on Cou Cou Intimate’s Rina tee, might I suggest going for this version from Gap? It has the same boatneck, pointelle detailing, and rounded hem. The biggest difference is that because it’s made with modal and elastane, it’s a little bit stretchier, which I like.
An easy dress for fall weddings…
I think I just found the wedding guest dress of the season from Anthropologie’s in-house brand, Maeve. It has an asymmetrical hem and stretchy, ruched detailing that makes it extra comfortable to wear all night. It comes in black, moss, and red, but I’d go for the moss shade if you want to stay on trend this season.
My favorite fleece in two new shades…
Uniqlo just brought back my beloved fleece cardigan, and I couldn’t be more excited. They added a chocolate brown and forest green version to the mix. It’s the easiest cardigan to throw on for quick walks, long travel days, and layering up in a chilly office.
The chic tumbler sitting in my cart…
I’ve known about Bink for their glass and silicone water bottles, but these funky tumblers are so underrated. They’re made of stainless steel and have double-walled insulation. They’ll keep beverages warm for up to 12 hours and cold for up to 24 hours. I can’t wait to use one to take lattes on the go.
A sleep mask from the brand behind my go-to earplugs…
Loop just came out with the Loop Eclipse, a sleep mask that curves over your ears, so you can sleep with your earplugs comfortably in place. It’s soft, will provide near total darkness, and has nonslip grips along the sides.
