There’s just something about throwing on headphones and getting lost in an audiobook that we absolutely adore. Whether it’s a creepy thriller that keeps you on your toes while you’re prepping dinner, a moving memoir that makes you feel all the feels during your commute, or a rom-com to spice up your unexciting stop at the grocery store. So we rounded up some new-ish titles we’re especially loving on Audible right now.

Sharon Stone is resilient. It’s just a fact. You’ll learn it all in this gripping retelling of her close encounter with death after she suffered a massive stroke that impacted her career, health, and family. She writes about what it meant to rebuild her life and shares tidbits — some fun, some devastating — about everything from her traumatic childhood to her career in Hollywood along the way. Pssst: Stone narrates it herself, which makes it all the more intimate. (Amazon)
PS: We also love listening to these other incredible celebrity books. 10/10 recommend.

This one follows a happily married 50-something who’s spent every summer of her life at her family’s home in Cape Cod. The novel takes place over the course of a single day, with some snippets of the character’s past interwoven. Ultimately she’ll have to make a life-altering romantic decision after sleeping with her childhood love. (Amazon)

Ford — a popular podcaster and writer— opens up about the struggles of growing up in Indiana while her father was incarcerated. It touches on how she dealt with her fractured and complicated relationship with her mother, sexual violence, and body image. And how she learned how to come out on the other side. This one is a critics’ fave, and once you listen, you’ll totally understand why. (Amazon)

The figure at the center of the hit movie, aka Katherine Johnson, gives the full account of her, yes, remarkable life. In this memoir, which was published posthumously and written with her daughters, she opens up about her groundbreaking work for NASA, being a part of the space race, and more. Prepare to be inspired. Calling all “Three Women'' fans. Its author returns, this time with a dramatic fictional tale that belongs in the same multiverse as its predecessor. It’s narrated by Emma Roberts and follows a fierce, sexually savvy 30-something who moves from NYC to Topanga Canyon, California, after witnessing a horrifying tragedy. To grapple with her traumas — new and old — she seeks out a young woman who’s the key to unlocking her past. It’s got some smart commentary on female rage, and warning: This one takes on some dark subjects and can get pretty heavy. (Amazon)

In this meditative and self-narrated memoir, Kloots writes about love and loss after the death of her husband, Broadway actor Nick Cordero, to COVID-19 complications last year. She co-wrote the book with her sister, and it chronicles her relationship with her husband, how she’s navigating grief, and more. It’s extremely emotional and honest, and tissues will be very necessary. (Amazon)
