Being selfish gets a bad rap. Despite what we’ve been taught, prioritizing yourself is reallyyyy good for you. Experts say quality self-care is linked to higher self-esteem, optimism, and self-worth.

So we’ve rounded up three ways to help you maximize your you-time. You officially have our permission to be a little selfish this year.

• Do some self-reflection.

We don’t mean you should agonize over every cringe-worthy  interaction, but take a minute to think about how far you’ve come and your goals for the future. One way to do that? Journaling. If you’ve never done it before, the 5-minute journal is a good place to start. Each morning, a writing prompt encourages you to acknowledge what you’re grateful for and asks what you can prioritize to make today great. At the end of the day, you list the highlights and what you learned. A more positive mindset, right this way.

• Take a grown-up time out.

It can be hard to wind down at the end of a stressful day, but these CBD bath salts can help take the edge off. Each jar contains 200 milligrams of CBD (enough for four baths) and is infused with organically-grown kava, lavender, calendula, ginger, and hemp for relaxation. The mineral-rich Epsom salts nourish skin, encourage circulation, relieve discomfort, and renew your body and mind. Stock up and chill out.

• Hold yourself accountable.

Whether your goal is to drink more water, hone your cooking skills, or spend more time outside, this calendar will help you keep track of your daily, weekly, and monthly habits to set you up for success. Each morning, write down your goal and then check it off once you’ve accomplished it. The more check marks you see, the more motivated you’ll be to keep it up. Go ahead, make yourself proud.
