We’re all aware of how grueling the last three years have been for women. You know it. You live it. Still, it helps to have numbers — to show that you’re not the only one. To show that you aren’t crazy or lazy or ungrateful. To show that the problems facing women are systemic, that we’re not getting enough support, that we’re furious.

That’s why theSkimm asked The Harris Poll to conduct a study asking more than 4,500 women about their lives. The result is theSkimm’s 2023 State of Women Report. When you can present hard numbers, it’s also harder for lawmakers, medical professionals, employers, and partners to look away. Our numbers indicate that women are over this sh*t, that we don’t expect anyone to help us, and that for maybe the first time, we’re doing what works for us.
