I Became a First-Generation College Grad on My Own Terms

November 18, 2021

Meet Teajuana. No one in her family had gone to college, but she was determined to do things differently. So she worked really hard...and got into her dream school (hi, Ohio State University). Spoiler alert: It felt great. But one night, a condom fell off while she was having sex. And she realized her whole life could change.

We spoke to Teajuana about her experience taking Plan B One-Step® emergency contraception, graduating, and moving to New York City to pursue her dreams. Back-up plans ftw, arewerite?

Psst: Not familiar with Plan B? We’ve got you covered. It….

  • must be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. But the sooner you take it, the better it works.

  • temporarily delays ovulation (hint: the part where your ovaries release eggs), so you don’t get pregnant.

  • won’t interfere with regular birth control methods or make them any less effective. Oh, and it won’t affect your future fertility, either.

  • is available in the family planning aisle of most major retailers. And you don’t need an ID or Rx to get it.
