Get ready to dig out your old Barbies for some style inspo. ICYMI: “Barbiecore” is the latest fashion trend that’s got people living in a Barbie world this summer. The doll’s had quite the evolution over the years. But one thing has remained the same: girl’s got style. No, we’re not talking about her unrealistic body image. But about her hot-pink wardrobe.

Right now, Barbie-pink (aka hot or neon pink) is having a moment. It may or may not be driven by the live-action “Barbie” movie coming out in 2023 (hi, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling). Either way, people are buying into the trend. Case in point: Barbiecore searches on Etsy are reportedly up 35% in the last three months.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to kick your Feral Girl Summer to the curb to participate. Here’s what you need to know to get your Barbiecore on.

Taking a page from Barbie’s fashion playbook

Hot or neon pink is central to the Barbiecore trend. That's because pink "has always been Barbie's favorite color," Kim Culmone, SVP of Design for Barbie and Fashion Dolls, told InStyle. It reps "limitless potential and is a symbol of female empowerment." Plus, it adds some boldness and fun to everyone’s wardrobe. You can wear the color head-to-toe. Or, add pops of it to your #OOTD.

Remember, you can’t really get it wrong by going too bold or vibrant. And if pink isn’t really your shade, no worries. Culmone said the trend is always changing. It can include other bright and bold colors. Think: Neon hues. As Eve from “Life-Size” once told us, “shine bright, shine far.”

Barbiecore’s been blazing a pink path for decades. See: Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde.” And over the years, there've been some celebs who’ve embraced the look. Like Kacey Musgraves at the 2019 Met Gala. But the fashion trend has definitely taken off in 2022. And because showing is better than telling, here are some of the top looks to date:
