What Our Editors Were Obsessed With in September

Products you buy through our links may earn us a commission. Oh, and if something's out of stock, oops, it was there (and all prices were accurate) at time of publication.

We’ll admit it: One major perk of our job as editors is that we get to try out tons of products to let you know if they’re truly worth your hard-earned money. So in the nature of tossing gatekeeping to the curb, we’re sharing a few standout faves from the past month that we usually reserve for the group chat. Because they really are that good (and we’ll be super sad if they sell out and we can’t get them anymore). Without further ado…

An umbrella that's big enough to share...

I love sturdy umbrellas and this one from Weatherman does not disappoint. It's pretty wide, so it provides full coverage. It's got two straps that wrap around the top and bottom, so when you're closing it to enter your home, it really won't leak water. A huge plus I find super important: The open/close button is responsive. It'll pop open quickly and close smoothly, which is huge when it's really raining outside and you need protection. –Alexandra Napoli ($74, Weatherman)

Dishes so pretty we bought the whole set...

There's something about dinnerware I just can't say no to. So it's no surprise that this month's big splurge was a completely new dining set from Piano Piano. The dishes and cups are handcrafted and handpainted in Italy with swirling motifs in the prettiest colors. Copy me and replace your plates and bowls, or go the lighter route and just snag a serving plate and pitcher to up the ante on your next dinner party. Beck Diaz ($62, Piano Piano)

The perfect sock for all your fall footwear...

I love the look of crew socks with loafers, but (not shockingly) I'm picky about the sock. They can't be too thick, making my feet hot, or too athletic-looking, ruining my schoolgirl aesthetic. These are perfect; they hit right above the ankle, are made out of breathable, ribbed organic cotton, and have cushioning in the footbed to keep you comfortable all day. I love them so much I wear them with sneakers, too, and will be buying other colors besides the classic off-white (they also come in a four-pack). Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a sock snob now. –Martha Upton ($30, Comme Si)

An initial necklace that stands out from the rest...

Ever since I bought this necklace from Mejuri at the beginning of the month, it is the single piece I wear that is most asked about or complimented on. This pendant is different from regular letter pendants in that it’s thicker and has some modern etching on it. Because the chain is longer, it’s easy to layer with other necklaces. But I also love wearing it on its own with T-shirts and sweaters. –Margo Ghertner ($148, Mejuri)

A candle we didn't think we could find outside of Europe...

Since the average temperature in New York has dipped approximately one single degree, I’ve pulled out all my fall/winter candles from storage. Last year I got this Smoke & Musk candle from Earl of East, a home goods store in London, and it’s become the crown jewel of my collection. I burned it sparingly last winter because I couldn’t track it down from a retailer that shipped to the US — but lo and behold, I just found it on Cult Beauty. SSENSE and Nordstrom carry other fragrances from the brand, too. (I also like Wildflower for the kitchen or bathroom.) –Caroline Goldstein ($69, Cult Beauty)

A hair tool worth the investment...

I’ve been wanting a hair tool that could do it all for a while, and I recently got this Shark FlexStyle. The hype is 100% worth it. I'm obsessed. I actually get excited to dry my hair, which is a statement I truly never thought I would say. It really can do it all, and I'm so happy I made the leap. –Celia Skvaril ($279.99, Shark)
