Skimm Her Life is a series in our weekly newsletter, Skimm Your Life, where smart women share their favorite products.

This one goes out to all the curly girls out there. Today, Lisa Price, founder of Carol’s Daughter, is here to share all her favorite products, hydrated hair hacks, and so much more. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, they’re celebrating 30 years of being the ultimate beauty spot for hydration from head to toe. Lisa, take it away…

What are your favorite products from Carol’s Daughter?

Goddess Strength Cocoon Mask, Hair Milk Curl Refresher Spray, and Wash Day Delight Water-to-Foam Shampoo.

If someone is new to Carol’s Daughter, what products would you recommend for them?

Goddess Strength 7 Oil Blend, Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner Spray, and Almond Cookie Shea Soufflé.

Do you have an unconventional or hacky way to use any specific Carol’s Daughter product?

Yes, I love to layer hair oil with a deep conditioning mask for something I call an “Oil Infusion.”

Smartest purchase you’ve made recently?

I bought the Little Buddy bag and a lanyard from Parker Thatch. The pouch holds small essentials like AirPods, lens wipes, and lip balm. With the lanyard, I can attach my keys, throw it over my shoulder, or toss it into a larger bag. Since getting it, I have not misplaced my keys, which was a regular thing.

Favorite surprisingly useful item under $25?

This electric cleaning brush. I have been able to get so many things clean, without damaging the item. Super precise and easy to use.

Your current favorite book?

Michelle Obama’s “The Light We Carry.”

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

When I feel stressed and like I cannot think of what to do next, I remember my mom telling me to make a cup of tea and call her back, so that we could talk it through. It wasn’t until she passed away that I realized the act of making the tea slows my breath, my heart rate, and lessens my anxiety.
